Halcyon
For some reason, I thought SWB recommended a thesaurus in WWS, but for the life of me I can't find the reference. Can someone help me out here? Thanks!!!
Halcyon
It seems Roget's International 6th edition is recommended?
Justin from WTM
Halcyon, Here's what SWB says on page xxiv of the Instructor book: "Beginning in Week 3, the student will need a thesaurus. Although any comprehensive thesaurus will work, the most recent version of the classic Roget’s International Thesaurus is recommended. Avoid condensed or pocket-sized thesaurii, since these are less complete." Hope that's helpful. Justin from Peace Hill Press
JudoMom
It seems Roget's International 6th edition is recommended? I bought it, and I strongly disliked it--so did my boys. I ended up getting a Webster's.
wy_kid_wrangler04
I bought it, and I strongly disliked it--so did my boys. I ended up getting a Webster's. What did you dislike about it?
Halcyon
I bought it, and I strongly disliked it--so did my boys. I ended up getting a Webster's. And is it still easy to do the exercises as indicated in the book? Also, Justin, I don't suppose it would matter terribly if I got the 6th version as opposed to the 7th? The price is a lot better on the 6th ;) Thanks for your help.
Bloggermom
Either the The Merriam-Webster Thesaurus or the Roget's Super Thesaurus both get great reviews and should work fine.
Woodland Mist Academy
I think either the 6th or 7th would work fine. I bought the 7th. We already had the 4th edition which is nice because the page numbers line up with the page numbers in the exercises.
