JMDRAD
I am really not stressing out about this at all but I kinda wanted to find something useful for my little girl that's turning 3 in a couple weeks. I've been sick for the last month and I'll admit it, I'm guilty of plopping her in front of the TV for some peace. :o On the bright side, she has watched the Leap Frog Letter Factory so much that she now knows all her basic letter sounds. She's very interested in letters right now and she is always bringing me her fridge magnets and telling me what sounds they make. So, along those lines, are there any "education" toys you might think she would enjoy? Nothing over $25 and nothing messy. :tongue_smilie: THANKS! :D
Live2Ride
My kids loved Melissa and Doug puzzles...they also liked real musical instruments-maracas, drums, jingle bracelets, wooden sound makers, etc. I'm musical though and don't mind the 'noise' they like to create (I can't stand electronic noise makers). Blocks are still a favorite here. My son liked the skinny flat rectangular blocks, I think they are called Kappa blocks.
JMDRAD
These are great ideas! But... she's inherited all that from her older sisters. LOL. She loves music and she spend a great deal of time playing on my digital piano. We have a ton of blocks. Thanks anyways for the ideas. :001_smile:
Farmgirl70
How about some Jim Weiss storytelling CDs--I think he has some for younger kids? Dress up things? Books? My kids loved the Classical Kids CDs, but she might be a bit young for those yet. A game--Boggle Jr. (for preschoolers) or a memory game or candy land? A puzzle? Jenmomof3
My kids got a magnetic mosaic toy that they still play with sometimes. Looks like they have it for a great price on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Orb-Factory-Magnetic-Mosaics-Kids/dp/B000J1CQ98/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1329009762&sr=1-
zaichiki
Definitely dress up: a swishy skirt and some big clunky heels!
smstjohn
I can tell you one of the things I just got for my soon to be 3-year old boy: the new Elephant and Piggie book! All of the kids in my family will love it, too, including the seven year old. :001_smile:
Jen in PA
Does she already have a feltboard? One with a set or two of felts might be fun.
Farrar
Her very own mp3 player? I gave my boys one at that age and you can find cheapie ones for about that. You can load it with kid music you already have and audiobooks as you get them.
