AngieW in Texas
Take a look at Sonlight Core G. They use SOTW1 and SOTW2 combined with Story of Julius Caesar and Story of Christopher Columbus and Usborne World History along with lots of literature. Elizabeth in MN
I've had my daughter read the corresponding pages in the Kingfisher History book and narrate it back to me.
Bloggermom
You could really beef it up with some higher level books and historical fictions. The Ancient City: Life in Classical Athens and Rome Ancient Mesopotamia: The Sumerians, Babylonians, and Assyrians (People of the Ancient World) Pharaoh's Daughter: A Novel of Ancient Egypt Alexander the Great: Master of the Ancient World (Wicked History) The Cat of Bubastes: A Tale of Ancient Egypt God King: A Story in the Days of King Hezekiah (Living History Library) Shadow Hawk (Living History Library) Tirzah Mara, Daughter of the Nile Tales of Ancient Egypt

2_girls_mommy
We will do history as laid out in the logic stage of WTM. My 5th grader will listen in to the SOTW readings next year as my younger one hears them. But her main work will come from reading and outlining from the Kingfisher History encycopedia and the extra history and lit. suggestions from the A.G.
