Homeschooling for Excellence, Colfax or When Children Love to Learn, Elaine Cooper?

Are these must haves? My keeper homeschool books are WTM and WEM, Debra Bell's two, Andreola's Charlotte Mason and Educating the Wholehearted Child. I have sold everything else I have purchased and read over the years....

I loved the Colfaxes' book, but I wouldn't say it's a keeper. I mean you read it once and...there you are. :-) (I sat next to Micki and Reed Colfax once at a homeschool convention, and even chatted with her a little. Aren't you impressed? :D ) Give it to someone else for inspiration.

 

I'm not familiar with the other.

My two local library systems don't have either one. But I have an amazon gift card. I hoped someone could judge if I would love them based on my other keeper homeschool books! I am intrigued by the Colfax story, but the reviews say all the resources they mention are very out of date so...

Skip the Colfax book. It's okay. You can sit and read it in one sitting. But, all the specifics (or stuff you could actually use in your own school) are out of date.

I love Cooper's book. For me, it's a keeper. It is geared more for CM schools but I was able to take alot out of it and use it for our homeschool. I always read it at the beginning of the school year for inspiration. But I can't say whether this would be a keeper for you or not.
