teeniebeenie6
I'm curious if anyone here has successfully used Highlights Top Secret Adventures or Which Way USA with a Kindergartner? Also is there anything religious in it that would conflict with our Christian beliefs? Thanks!
Sevilla
I used it briefly with my DS this year and it was a little beyond him (and to be honest, I didn't think it was that great of a learning tool - a lot of random facts without good integration). We did the Top Secret Adventures - China.
Tigger
I ordered both thinking they'd be a fun way to do geography - I set them aside for next year, when DS is a stronger reader and can do them more independently. I honestly don't think they'd be good for a K'er.
Dmmetler
There's a lot of writing and small print in Which Way USA, and some of the puzzles are quite challenging. I found the set used at a Thrift store, and truthfully the maps have been more useful than the books for DD so far.
teeniebeenie6
Thank you all for your opinions! It looks as if it too advance and not very educational. That is disappointing. The Top Secret one especially looked fun. I wish there was something out that was really fun and educational.
amayla
I think K is a little young for both. I tried them both with my son over the summer. And was just finished with K. They both seemed a little much for him. He did love the Top Secret Adventures but I felt like I had to do a lot of the work. I think they offer the first one free, you could give it a try to see what you think. We did this, but forgot to cancel the subscription so I have two more waiting for sometime in the future. I was able to get all of the Which Way USA's from a friend, never used, and the few missing ones on ebay, so I have them all ready for whenever my son is ready for them! I think he might be ready for these soon! :) I should take them out again.
