BlueSkiesAbove
Would this work for an almost 5 year old who is reading the stories on starfall (short a through U). Or would you hold off to gain a little more maturity? Or would you place at the K level and whiz through it as a review and then do A? Or would you skip it and go straight for ETC 1 and 2 as planned? Willow Creek Academy
If he (she?) is already reading, I would start with A and see how it goes. I had a 5 1/5 year old blaze through the 1998 edition of A and was on B in 3 months. I switched her to CLE at that point.I have not seen the new version, so I can't comment on that. cmarango
I would do A. I have some samples on A on my blog since I had such a hard time finding any when I was debating on what to order. HTH.
Tracy
We tried it after dd was already reading, and it was pure torture. It was way too easy and way too much writing, a deadly combination around here.
3peasinapod
I, too, find that MCP phonics has LOADS of writing.
lakshmi
We liked it. Had one zip through and moved her up to B, and the other has been slowly working through A. If it gets to be too much writing, I either have them tell me aloud, skip problems or do less in one day. All three of my kids did this at 6, the one in it now, started at age 5. She has had the most problems with it.
