To the OP, it can be parent intensive because it includes discussion. With more than one level it is a little harder as well. BUT, if your child gets to the point where they are independent a lot of the discussion can happen at the dinner table, during a drive to activity or before bed. The absolutely best thing about it, is NO RESEARCH for the best way to teach ABorC. It is ready to go. It takes some getting used to but my kids have really liked it. I like it because I have more time to FB and check forums instead of planning how to learn about adjectives or something. Some folks use just one part, language or science, but I have used the entire curriculum since the first level. We have a relaxed process so we move slowly through the material, but I can see my children using the information they have acquired in their daily lives.

Moving Beyond the Page isn't exactly unit studies. It is organized by units but it works a little bit differently that just exploring one topic like "apples" or "horses" or "Australia".

A big portion of the money goes to the literature. But you can cut the price nearly in half if you can get the books used or at the library.

Both of my daughters loved it but I only used the trial membership. I couldn't ever commit to it. I didn't like it at all at first but then by the end of the week, or two, I had changed my mind. But not enough to buy it and definitely not enough to use as a stand alone.

Eat at a place that is a combo grocery store and small market type food called Eataly.. 5th avenue and 25th street They have FABULOUS coffee and great pizza and food. It is a busy busy place and it is huge... And while this restaurant is a bit irreverent it has some of the BEST soft serve ice cream I've ever eaten..... And I happen to love a good deli and Katz's is south of the ice cream shop. If you just want to have fun I guess I imagine that to include lots of food. haha.... nothing educational there! Have a great visit and remember the Q goes to Brooklyn not the World Trades Center!!!

I've tie dyed with my 6yo eons ago. Our focus in fabric arts has been machine and hand sewing, and this year we're starting cross stitch.

I've asked them about it before, and they weren't sure about it. What happens is that sometimes, if I schedule one at three weeks and the other at four weeks. That at some point they will end up being on the same day. It isn't like they alternate weeks.. there is no way that I can see for them to alternate weeks. It just isn't in the programming. But it seems like there might be a way after the school year starts. To change the course after the first week. But, not sure.. and not really wanting to wait...

You have to make sure all the courses "SHARE THE DAY' check the box to the left of that.... Otherwise your first course 'OWNS THE DAY' and will be the only thing scheduled...

When inputing new courses for the school year, has anyone had good luck using the Repeat every: Week, Two weeks, Three weeks, Four Weeks I'd like to alternate two courses every other week, but have no idea how to input it. Any suggestions? What I will end up doing is assigning both courses to every week and will just alternate marking them as done. So it will change the school hours. Or I could just give the course a / in the name, and count it as two aspects of the same course. :auto:

It takes the rest of your life. Ha ha.. Thyroid issues can go in and out of whack so it isn't something that is so easy to say, X amount of weeks and you'll be feeling like your old self again. Likely you will never feel like your old self again. But, usually about six weeks after taking the meds you could be feeling better.

Yes, you need the RightStart Teacher's book and student activity books. You will likely be able to group them together. Rightstart B contains a quicker version of RS A. But depending on the ages of your children you might want to get just B. The RightStart folks are great about answering questions if you need to contact them directly.
