He has liked The Complete Idiot's Guide to U.S. History - Graphic Illustrated. Question: Anyone have first hand knowledge with Larry Gonick books? He's written many graphic books about many topics. I haven't done so yet- but I did just borrow one of the books from the Cartoon History of the Earth series and we LOVE it. Informative and fun in that same sort of comic style approach. Here is a link for the first book in the series... there are a total of 4. My dd5 and I lay on the bed and read it together. She loves it but it is definitely geared for slightly older children. We are a liberal family and did not find anything offensive; however, my child read the books in middle school and high school.
