Larry Gonick graphic history books?

Recommended Posts

My ds9 loves history. He loves cartoons. He loves graphic books. He has liked The Complete Idiot's Guide to U.S. History - Graphic Illustrated.

Question: Anyone have first hand knowledge with Larry Gonick books? He's written many graphic books about many topics. Wondering about his Modern World book. It says 9th grade and up. Anyone know if it is inappropriate for a younger age? Thanks.

I have been wanting to borrow a Gonick book from the library to check it out before I purchase one. I haven't done so yet- but I did just borrow one of the books from the Cartoon History of the Earth series and we LOVE it. Informative and fun in that same sort of comic style approach.

Here is a link for the first book in the series... there are a total of 4.

My dd5 and I lay on the bed and read it together. She loves it but it is definitely geared for slightly older children. Maybe your son would find it appealing for prehistory??
