plain jane
anymore because my Macbook bit the dust and requires $300+ in repairs. :glare: It'll turn 2 years old this Christmas and has never really been the miracle machine that Macs are known to be. It has, however, been better than any PC I've ever owned so I'm not really complaining about it. Still, I think I got a lemon of the Mac world, unfortunately. I'm just disappointed. All the Windows laptops I've had have only lasted one year before a fatal hard drive crash so I did get my money out of two years of use with my Mac. I don't really want to pay $300 to repair it but it seems like a waste to just throw out a 2 yo Macbook. So, goodbye shiny new iPad under the Christmas tree. Guess it wasn't meant to be this year. :tongue_smilie: Edited November 28, 2011 by plain jane
acurtis75
Have you considered going with the iPad and just getting a keyboard for it. There's another thread about this very topic. http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327255
DawnM
Have you taken it into a Genius Bar to talk to them? My friends did and they fixed their 4 year old computer for free even though there was no warrantee on it. Dawn
Mommyof4ks
What is wrong with it? Can you order the parts from new egg.com and fix it yourself? That is what dh does. You can then get your shiny new iPad! iPads are so much fun!
