momee
Where do you purchase yours? The only ones I'm seeing are lacy country types. Or very expensive Calico Corners custom ones...any help?
Pretty in Pink
Lowes, Home Depot, JCPenney, Belk, etc. Maybe Pottery Barn?
rwjx2khsmj
I have the best luck with curtains at Lowes and Target.
LaxMom
Lowes, Home Depot, JCPenney, Belk, etc. Maybe Pottery Barn? Yup. All of those. And Target, though it depends on what lines are out currently. (Target just tends to be trendier than the others, who are pretty consistent)
Harriet Vane
I like the Martha Stewart line at Kmart. I also like Country Curtains (they are NOT all frilly country style). Even though many of their curtains are pricey, there are some that are quite affordable so it's worth a look.
momee
Hey, spending some time at Country Curtains but will probably order these from Fabric Workroom, even though they're pricey... http://www.fabricworkroom.com/store/cart.php Be sure to check out the fabric selection, it's not the one showing as a sample if you're interested. If not, thanks for the suggestions anyway! I appreciate the guidance!
Carrie-txmama2six
Lowes and Kmart have great curtains. Also, can you sew? Curtains are the easiest home sewing project you can do.
momee
I can sew but have only done two colonial dresses so far. Curtains seem scary. (Not that the dresses weren't!)
LauraGB
I made mine. Sort of. I bought the sheers to match my dining room curtains, then cut and hemmed them to fit windows. Easy, straight line seams - even a non-sewer (like myself, eventhoughmycurtainslookawesome, ahem) can swing it.
momee
Hmmm...found this http://www.centsationalgirl.com/2009/04/diy-kitchen-upgrade-simple-sew-easy-valance/
elegantlion
I bought fabric and had them sewn. My mom makes all of my curtains. I bought the fabric at Walmart - it was decorator leftover probably. They look very high end (the pattern is like what you migh find at Pottery Barn or Ballard Designs) and the fabric was 2.00 a yard.
Carrie-txmama2six
Curtains are simple. You can actuall just copy the measurements from standard curtains if measuring scares you. Curtains only come in a couple of sizes. If you search You Tube they have tutorials that helped me to decide that I could totally do it. Good luck!
