WarriorMama
You know...the ones where you're doing math review and your 7yo melts down claiming to have no idea how to tell time? Even though she's been doing it since she was four and tells time on various sorts of clocks EVERY SINGLE DAY?!?!? :banghead: Talk about a mental misfire. And me without a shred of chocolate in the house. :tongue_smilie:
Jean in Newcastle
Maybe skip that part of the review for now and do it orally when she doesn't know that it's math time? :grouphug:
ciyates
I am so with you! My computer died and of course I didn't back up any important documents like ohh say DS's transcripts :willy_nilly: and I just caught the boy cheating on his Algebra II test! Seriously! He had the nerve to tell me he just had to get through the course. :svengo:
PeterPan
Sounds like a time to go collect leaves or walk in the rain. Time isn't important at that age. It's ok to laugh at days like that, rip up the page, and come back to math the next day fresh. If she knew it yesterday, she may know it again tomorrow. And sometime between now and age 15 she'll probably figure it out for good.
WarriorMama
Just for the record, I'm not freaking out. More astounded at the melodramatic insistence that she can't do something she does multiple times a DAY. ;) We took a break, and when we came back to it I re-explained for about ten seconds and she magically remembered how to tell time and finished the review in about five minutes. And I actually got Mount Laundry folded during the break! Just one of those Monday morning things I guess!

I hope your day gets better! :grouphug:
