Tabrett
I am going to start CW Primer. The Aesop they suggest is The Aesop for Children (Illustrated Edition) (Dodo Press) [Paperback]. On Amazon there is a hard copy version but it is published by Aeonian Pr; 1984 ed edition (November 1983). Amazon gives the same preview and reviews for each book and states that the author is Aesop and the illistrator is Milo Winter. I know Aesop didn't write in English.:tongue_smilie: How do I find out if the book are the same translation? I would really prefer a hard copy. junepep
I can't help with which hard-copy to use, but I can help with a bump and some links ;) Aesop's Fables are available for free online, they're easy to print out and you can look them up for a little story anywhere with an internet capable phone - http://www.aesopfables.com/ They're also available to watch on you tube -- (there are a ton of other ones, just click around a bit) Edited October 18, 2011 by junepep I can't spell
Honey Bee
We've used the primers in the past and enjoy the hardcopy illustrated by Milo Winter. It's definitely for kids, and the illustration work is well done.
LMD
I'm not sure, but that hard copy version looks beautiful! I bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/Aesops-Fables-Children-Read---Listen/dp/0486467708/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1318966009&sr=8-2-fkmr0 to use with CW primers next year. ElizabethB
This one is the exact same translation but with color pictures, bigger font, and a CD. Plus, it is cheaper! My children love it, it is a book we will save for a long time. http://www.amazon.com/Aesops-Fables-Children-Read---Listen/dp/0486467708/ref=sr_1_9?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1318977589&sr=1-

ElizabethB
Oh, wow! Thanks! You are welcome! I prefer hard cover, too, but this softcover has held up well despite hard use. The size is much nicer, it is bigger pages and a bigger font.

The Dodo Press edition can be downloaded for free from Bookdepository. Actually, Bookdep offers all the Dodo Press books as free downloads so you could download that edition and have that as well. http://www.bookdepository.com/Aesop-for-Children-Illustrated-Edition-Dodo-Press-Aesop/9781409917861
