Classical Roots vs. Wordly Wise

We are considering using one of these two for our children. Any thoughts or experiences with these that might help with our decision?

I've had both but stuck to Wordly Wise because I like the way it works with our schedule. Each lesson has a word list and then there are 5 activities using these words. I can schedule this nicely in a week format. I like classical roots too but wordly wise just was a better fit for us and the children seemed to retain the vocabulary better.

Thanks for your thoughts. Do your children study Latin or Greek in addition to Wordly Wise?

I am interested in this answer too. I really like Worldly Wise, but am wondering if I should add in a roots/latin program too. However, it would seem like overkill?? Any thoughts anyone?

That's why I was asking - I know that the Classical Roots has Latin and Greek root words as the basis. Does Wordly Wise do the same? Or would you need some kind of supplement to hit the root words?

We're doing Gettin Started With Latin. It is very easy going. We like it and it works well with wordly wise for us. They are not so similar that it is overkill.

I have both but decided to just do Wordly Wise. We also do Lively Latin and I thought the Classical Roots would be overkill for us. I may try alternating weeks between WW and Classical. We don't love WW, it's just ok for us.

We use Wordly Wise and then the computer game version of Word Roots.

 

I have no experience with Classical Roots Vocab program though so I cannot offer an opinion on that, sorry.
