It's a humourous poem with a surprise ending that many Canadian kids get foisted on them in their upper elementary years. :tongue_smilie: Or maybe something from absurdist poets, like Shel Silverstein or Dennis Lee? Rime of the Ancient Mariner - don't know if that's too mature for her I imagine that Canterbury Tales is too mature for her but the entire thing is a poem I've got several poetry books from Sonlight - if there is a subject matter she likes, I can look through them. nikkid Posted September 18, 2011 Share Posted September 18, 2011 The Wizard by Jack Prelutzky might be that long. The words flow nicely so even though it's long it's easier to memorize than some.
