Audrey
A great honour for a genuinely decent and endlessly positive person, but so sad. :crying:
Impish
Not watching the coverage (I never do) but I always admired Mr. Layton. I actually spoke with him at length on the phone btwn elections. Pretty surprised to simply be transferred right to him, rather than passed to a jr staff. Nice man. I laughed when he was voted the politician most Canadians would like to go for a beer with during the last election. Pretty accurate, I think. nmoira
A friend of mine has started a campaign to rename Yonge and Dundas Square to Jack Layton Square. Here's an article at HuffingtonPost.ca, and the Facebook Group.
Audrey
A friend of mine has started a campaign to rename Yonge and Dundas Square to Jack Layton Square. Here's an article at HuffingtonPost.ca, and the Facebook Group. I'll check it out. On a side note, I heard they'll be bathing the CN tower in orange light all night long. That would really be something special to see. ETA: Okay, I just lost it at the last "O Canada." Edited August 27, 2011 by Audrey
