lynn
I made pizza tonight and used some cornmeal to roll the dough on. DH just pointed out that the corn meal expired 2 years ago:001_huh:. No bugs were in it, no odors, nothing unusual about it. Are we going to the ER tonight? I can't believe I did that. I use corn meal atleast twice a month, I can't believe I had it 2 years past the expiration date. Time to clean out the cupboards:glare:
Carol in Cal.
No problem. If a 'dry goods' item goes bad, you can tell. It will smell 'off' or have bugs in it. They have sprouted wheat seeds from 4000 year old Egyptian tombs. Dry goods last a long time if they are stored properly.
LauraGB
Most importantly, how did it taste? :tongue_smilie: I wouldn't sweat it. If it didn't taste bad, I'm guessing you'll be fine. I think mine expired in Dec, lol.
Dobela
If it had gone bad, it would have tasted bad. You are most likely fine. I have taken that long to use some here and we are still living. I do keep mine in the freezer mostly though.
lynn
Thanks for the responses. I feel so much better. I did move cleaning out kitchen cabinets to the top of my to do list.
