Crimson Wife
I would consider it if the pros outweighed the cons. Special ed services that I could not afford privately is a big one that comes to mind. My youngest is in a 20 hr. per week Early Intervention preschool for this reason. I'm not thrilled about it, but she seems to be doing well there & there's no way that we could afford all the specialist services they provide. The school also has a 1:2 teacher:child ratio, which is actually better than what she'd have at home with 2 siblings. If she still needs services by the time she is Kindergarten age, I don't know what we'll do.
elegantlion
It would take a lot for me to put ds in public school, but he is not opposed to homeschooling. The only situation I see would be my death. I wouldn't expect dh to homeschool. I don't know what was said. :grouphug: Sometimes the people that we love the most know exactly where are vulnerable spots are located. KrissiK
Well, after a talk I had with a mom yesterday at ballet who pulled her kid out of our local district because her first grader was being bullied (physically assaulted, he'd come home with torn clothes, missing buttons and the child was not telling his mother what was going on) and the admin. knew and didn't call her, plus all the other garbage I know going on in our district.... I'd have to be comatose and DH, too, for me to put my children in our local public schools. I'd consider the local private school in our town if things just weren't working out homeschooling, but absolutely not the public schools!
