plain jane
I see that CW has this book in their recommended reading for Aesop/Homer level and I think I've seen it elsewhere. My kids have really enjoyed the D'Aulaire books but I can't say that this one sounds appealing. Can anybody tell me what this book is about and if we would be missing anything if we never read it? My library doesn't carry it and I don't feel like spending ~$15 on it. I will if it's worth it.
kiana
It's not as good as Greek/Norse Myths but I have and like it. It's a summary of the lifestyle habits of trolls according to Norse mythology.
swellmomma
I think it sounds very cool. Wouldn't help with the mythology exam but i may look into for fun. I had never heard of that one before
nmoira
See if your library has The Troll With No Heart in his Body. It's a reasonable substitute.
mcconnellboys
Well, if your kids like all things Lord of the Rings and are interested in trolls (and therefore troll lore), then you might want to check it out. We like reading the folklore and legends of northern lands and seeing/talking about how Tolkien and others have adapted those tales....
