kubiac
Help, please! What is this math honeycomb thing? Can someone who speaks math translate this honeycomb thingy that's painted on one of the outdoor storage closets at an elementary school near my friend's house? I get the place values thing, but I can't crack the code of the numbers hive.
BabyBre
The kids probably can't crack it either. I've seen some fuzzy math before, but I've never seen that at the elementary level! Is it some sort of game? :lurk5:
cloversandlions
My undergrad was English, so I'm no use. However, I did google "math honeycomb" and found this, although it doesn't really seem like an elementary-level topic to me. :) OOOH! I think I found an answer for you: >here< ETA: ^ Well, sort of. I'm still not sure why the honeycomb is relevant. :001_unsure: Edited July 27, 2011 by WorkInProgress

Coffeemama
That's neat! I've never seen it before...I think I'll print it out to use with my DS8:001_smile: Thanks!
veggiegal
Cool! I've never seen this before, and it looks right up our alley for DS9. We've done some things with the honeycomb shape in math before, with Pascal's Triangle, which you can read about here and here. Thanks for sharing!
