parias1126
I am looking or any and all ideas for bird study ideas. My children are obsessed with birds all of a sudden. I either want to include it with Science in the Fall or do a separate bird study. I would love links and or ideas.

Mrs Twain
There are many free lapbooks about birds on the homeschoolshare website here. They have them on all sorts of birds. I haven't done any of them, but their other lapbooks have been great. You could take parts of various lapbooks and put them together as one study, or you could focus on one type of bird at a time. Sahamamama
No help here, but I am listening in. I was just saying the other day that we would love to do a bird study for at least a semester (half year), or even a whole year. No kidding. I remember reading years ago (can't remember where now) about how most elementary science jumps from topic to topic. The author of the article was telling about how his/her daughter's third grade class had studied birds ALL YEAR LONG -- and it was amazing, the depth of their awareness and knowledge. They were able to go so much deeper into that one area of science -- and they covered every branch of science, too -- because they stayed with birds all year. But I've never been able to find that article again. This was in the days when I read things IN PRINT. Remember that? ;)
