Bug's Mom
If any of you have been following my story of the orphaned baby mouse dd found on Sunday, I just wanted you to know that he(?) has died. I went to feed him and he didn't run up my hand. He was moving a bit, but not much. I got him to eat a little and was hopeful that he would perk up, but he died in my hand, wrapped in his little piece of flannel. Dd is at a summer school cartooning class. She'll be crushed when I tell her.
OnTheBrink
I'm sorry. My dd would be crushed by that, too. :grouphug:

Evergreen State Sue
I'm sorry. A little ceremony might help in the healing. I remember we did that when we lost some baby chipmonks that fell out of a tree on our property. They didn't make it through the night and it was so sad to find out the next morning. We've buried lots of birds and bats behind the garage, but she and dh are going to make a small box out of balsa and we'll find a special spot in the yard to bury Small Mouse. Kebo
:grouphug: I'm sorry. It can be so difficult raising orphans. Kudus to you for trying.
Photo Ninja
I'm sorry. You tried, though. Given your soft heart towards animals, there are sure to be more creatures that will need your love and care. I hope the ceremony helps your dd deal with the loss of Small Mouse.

Donna T.
I'm so sorry. We parented a baby mockingbird awhile back and it was awful when she died, just horrible.
