Gamom3
Would you have someone clean your carpet or would you purchase a machine with the money and clean it yourself? Ds's graduation is on the 25th. We need our carpet cleaned! We got an estimate of $125 for our downstairs and stairs and if we want dupont(sp)??(I think this is like scotch guard) it will run and extra $60. I have seen what this company can do..they do a great job and they leave the house smelling really nice! Or with that money we could purchase our own machine and do the carpet ourselves..more than once. But would we get the same results??? Tammy
It is a pain in the butt to do yourself, LOL!
Chris in VA
We just did ours with Rug Dr from the grocery. It just doesn't get it as clean as a steamer that a professional uses. It's also hard to get all the soap out without soaking the carpet.
1bassoon
My vote is to hire the cleaner guys. Of course, this comes from the woman who has a cleaning service AND a carpet cleaning service coming next week, to prep house for the market. I'd feel guilty, but I'm too busy DECLUTTERING to feel guilty!:tongue_smilie:
RoughCollie
I bought a carpet cleaning machine to save money. I used it once. It was too hard, on top of everything else I have to do, for me to persuade myself to do it myself. I vote for hiring it out.
Halftime Hope
I have a carpet cleaner. It is worth it's weight, and I use it frequently for things that a hand scrubbing just won't get out. (3 kids, 2 dogs) However, it will not clean, deeply clean, the way a steam cleaning company can. I don't think you'll regret having the cleaners out. It really does make a huge difference!
