Poor sentences in textbooks

We learned this morning in our Streams of Civilization book that during the Industrial Revolution, the United States was shipped from ports such as New Orleans. :001_rolleyes:

 

Here is the exact sentence:

"Shipped from such ports as New Orleans, the United States became one of England's suppliers of cotton which played a key role in the development of the new industry."

 

So now you know, too. :)
