lmrich
I understand that we are not to sell certain consumable texts. Is it legal to trade with them? I keep my books in great condition, and it does seem wasteful to let it collect dust on my shelf. If I swap with some one else is this a copyright violation? woolybear
:lurk5: Great question. It seems to be that it would be legal, but waiting to hear what others have to say.
sncstraub
DH is an Intellectual Property attorney, and from my conversations with him about this type of thing, I would say that it is fine to trade. It may depend on exactly what the material is, but in most cases if you haven't "used" the material (ie...a CD that you've printed things from) or kept any of it or copied it, it should be fine. This is not legal advice, of course. Just my understanding from conversations with dh. :D
