He will be using: Heart of Dakota, Bigger Hearts for His Glory (alongside his big sis with ext. pack) R&S English 2 (a lot of this will be oral) Gr. 2 Rod & Staff Phonics CLE Math 2 He also will take outside classes & we'll be in our co-op for the 3rd year. Math - Horizons 1B followed by TT3 and Singapore for extra practice Spelling -All About Spelling Grammar - Growing With Grammar Copy Work and Narration -Writing With Ease Reading - Abeka books followed by SL Readers 2 History - MFW Adventures with some SL Core 3 Science - SL Core 2 Science Music - piano lessons (maybe) Second language - ? Terabith Posted April 1, 2011 Share Posted April 1, 2011 Still pretty tentative at this point: reading: R&S Reading 3, along with reading good books handwriting - haven't decided, but teaching cursive spelling: AAS 2/3 grammar: finish FLL 2, then to Easy Grammar 3 and Daily Grams writing: WWE 2 math: Math Mammoth 3/ finish Horizons 2 and then go to CLE 3 science: Mr. Q Earth and Space science and BFSU (with younger sister) history: SOTW 1 geography - maps and books about cultures, learning about communities and other "social studies" topics; Daily Geography 3 Spanish: Puertas Abiertas religion: Sadlier-Oxford Religion and Telling God's Story (with younger sister), Bible stories art: Artistic Pursuits K-3 volume 1 music: Musikgarten piano memory work: memorizing poetry and Bible verses Plus Classical Conversations (largey for social purposes, listen to CD but not focused), pe type activities (soccer, basketball, softball, ballet, swimming lessons), listen to good chapter and picture books read aloud Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(who knows how far we'll get), 2nd and 3rd Readers from Yesterday's Classics, plenty of books across the curriculum, biographies like Who in the World is..., Magic School Bus chapter books, Magic Tree House books,...
