shinyhappypeople
I remember next to nothing from the algebra or statistics I took in college. I managed to avoid taking geometry completely in high school. I'm ready to fill in the gaps and refresh my math skills, but VideoText, Chalkdust and similar programs are way out of my price range at the moment. Are there any algebra/trig/geometry texts and/or workbooks that don't cost an arm and a leg? I'm thinking in the range of $30-40. Bonus points if they're designed to be self-teaching. I'm a quick study and very motivated. Any suggestions?
Jane in NC
Books in the Lial series were written as remedial college texts. They are consumable workbooks which you can pick up on the used market for a song. (An older edition is just fine.) Sounds like they might be just the ticket for your situation. Chava_Raizel
Check out Kahn Academy. There are videos on nearly every math subject, and they're very thorough. Best of all it's completely free!
