JennifersLost
Western Civ. seems to be sucking the life-blood out of our history program. Is there a better text we can use next year for our spine for the middle ages?
LisaNY
I am really enjoying "A Short History of Western Civilization" by John B. Harrison. I bought it used on Amazon.
elizabeth
JMRoberts Illustrated History of the World is amazing. EF Gombrich is too short but charming and well written.I hunted the Roberts volumes down through alibris and bought a whole set for 35.00.http://www.alibris.com/landingpage/usedbooks?S=R&mkwid=020608cst2226990&siteID=NcYTag.a_sQ-6oUMLY6cT4gb7WSWezrrRQ
tbmoran
What text are you using for Western Civilization? What do you not like about your current text? We used Spielvogel's Western Civilization and both kids loved it. You can purchase study guides with questions for tests so that you don't have to spend time creating tests.
