TOG coop....I might be getting one :)

Happy, happy, joy, joy!

So, over the past couple of years, I've gotten a handful of locals turned on to TOG. I'm having a tea soon, so I think that may add to the numbers. We were thinking about a light co-op for a monthly or every 6weeks get together.

Thoughts? What would you like to do or see at such a coop? Help me think through this.

The things I mentioned: Fine arts, heavier activities (like the KONOS kinda projects -- build a drum or mask), memorization presentation (it would motivate us all to stick with the memorization plan!), public speaking as we would all share and present something, even open up the "create a skit" opportunities for my dc.

Very cool! I am hoping my community has enough TOG users to start a co-op eventually.

I would love to have the weekly discussions in a co-op setting but it looks like you are thinking more along the lines of twice per unit. I think unit celebrations would be super fun. This would also be a perfect time to give oral presentations. Younger kids could display something they made or wrote during the unit in a more informal way. If you met halfway through the unit, you could plan the celebration and do a project together.

My high schooler said he wants to do discussions. I was happily surprised by that! If I can get some more big kids in there, perhaps I can form a study group. It would be really good practice.
