foxbridgeacademy
So I was looking on Amazon at WWE workbooks, and a lot of the comment said there was no need to buy the textbook, that the WB has everything you need.... from your experience is this true? boscopup
Yes, you need either or, not both. I'm using the workbook only this year. Next year I am using the instructor text because I'll be selecting my own passages.
Mommy22alyns
I have found it to be true as well. Right now my hardcover text is just gathering dust!
Aludlam
You can also listen to the audio lectures at Peace Hill Press. I listened to the lectures and use the workbooks only.
Upstatemamma
Absolutely! I bought both and I have never used the textbook - not once. I do like the workbook a lot though.
Enough
I have found it to be true as well. Right now my hardcover text is just gathering dust! Ditto. I LOVE the workbook. Open and go! :)
foxbridgeacademy
Perfect! That's what I was hoping, Thanks for responding so soon!
Milknhoney
You only need to buy the workbook, but I recommend getting the textbook from the library to read. The intro gives you the whole philosophy of what you are doing now and what you will be doing later. I think it is important to have that big picture because otherwise, halfway through the year you will be asking yourself "what is the point of this again?" boscopup
If your library doesn't have the instructor text, listen to the audio lecture on teaching writing in the elementary years. I'm really glad I listened to that so I understood why we were doing the copywork and narration as it's laid out.
Mommee & Baba
I purchased the textbook and the workbook. The textbook has been thumbed through maybe 3-4 times but never actually used. The workbook is all we need as I need something open and go. I don't have the time to find my own passages or even schedule that as awful as it sounds...so I love that we have the wb. However I am glad that I did purchase the textbook because in the event of year 3 or 4 that I don't want to purchase the wb for that year I don't really have to as I have the textbook and can just use that and regular paper :)
alpidarkomama
The textbook isn't necessary, but it does give a thorough explanation of the approach and how and why it works. I thought it was one of the more interesting things to read. Maybe you can just borrow it from the library or a friend? It's well worth a read. :)
Hedgehogs4
:iagree: While you by no means have to buy both because as someone already said, they are "either-or," I am glad that I have the text because I like to look ahead to what is coming.
