momofkhm
The places around me that would carry such things aren't anymore. I'm already seeing an influx of spring clothes everywhere. Well, they do have some, but I'm not paying $50 for a pair of gloves. Would the Wal-mart/Target type stores close to the ski resort have them? Cheaper? I know the resort itself would have some, but I'm hoping not to spend that much. We're going to Massanutten, in VA before anyone asks. Only for the weekend and with my folks. Shelly in IL
Is that they really need two pair. After the first half of the day, they are soaked and cold. Sorry to add potential to your expense!
Myra
Try local consignment shops before you leave on vacation. I know that when I once lived in Florida - the resale shops were loaded with winter stuff as people relocated there and had no need for the items anymore. (As a matter of fact, my sister from Maine used to stock up whenever she visited my parents in Florida each year!)
JessReplanted
Yes, I also vote for a sporting goods store. That stuff is pricey, but it will last you a while. Also, look for the circular turtle-neck things that keep your neck warm - they make a big difference on a cold day!
DawnM
LandsEnd is having a big sale on these items. I looked yesterday.
