2cents
:( My own mom was a "Rosie" during the war. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/ushistorywwiifeminism;_ylt=AonK3Egv.n1YNGp1GKvVpa90fNdF
Chelle in MO
I saw that on Yahoo last night. I found it interesting that the poster wasn't famous until decades later. I had always assumed it was famous at the time.
GoVanGogh
My grandmother graduated from high school in the rural midwest at age 17, hopped on a bus and headed out to California to work in the factories during the war. I always smile when I see the "Rosie the Riveter" poster, as it reminds me of how spunky my late grandmother was. I can't imagine what my great-grandparents were thinking, though, letting my young grandmother travel 1/2 across the country during a war! :001_huh: Different time and place than today's world. Dobela
My grandmother was a riveter during the war as well. She also died recently so this news really effected me, unexpectedly.
