2squared
My 3rd grader is starting the cursive in book C, but I'm unsure how much I should be assigning daily? Do you assign a certain amount of lines per day? Do you provide additional practice as well? I have Startwrite, so I can print practice sheets until my printer zonks out on me. Dana
I am aiming for roughly 15 min of practice each day. When I see us having difficulties, I have ds work on notebook paper or I print out a page for him to trace.
Mama2Many4
When I was using Getty Dubay, I had him do 4 lines a day, plus some practice on worksheets when the letter was simple.
mcconnellboys
I always had both mine doing a page a day. The last couple of years I used the books, I also added in some copywork that was in italic. My youngest is finished with the books now but I still have him doing copywork. sagira
We do two pages a week. We only have penmanship twice a week, the rest of the time we only do copywork and other writing across the curriculum. I have him focus on his letters carefully. It's a short book, so I know we will be done in plenty of time. I can always print more sheets for practice as well.
nmoira
We do 10-15 minutes a day while working through the books, 10 minutes daily copywork for the remainder of the year, all in best handwriting.
