Luanne
is the beginning of a series? How could I have missed that all these years? Doesn't anyone by chance know what order they go in? Are there any other series that no one has told me about (on about this level)? Are you hiding anything else I should know? :001_huh:
Sue G in PA
Well, I must have been living under a rock b/c I never knew that either! My ds loved that book last year! Bunnicula is a series, too, but you probably knew that! My ds also loved that book and we plan to read more of them over the summer!
nutmeg
Yup! Book 1 of seven, although I haven't read the later six. This website is invaluable for figuring out series: http://www.mcpl.lib.mo.us/readers/series/juv/
Luanne
Yup! Book 1 of seven, although I haven't read the later six. This website is invaluable for figuring out series: http://www.mcpl.lib.mo.us/readers/series/juv/ I had been having a difficult time finding the orders to more than one series. Our library just says they are part of a series, but rarely does it give the numbers of which one comes first and then next ... etc.
Alice
We didn't enjoy the second one as much as the first, although it was good. I can remember being furious with my mother when I found out in college that the "Betsy-Tacy" books went on beyond the first two. I went back, bought them all and have re-read them over and over many times since. :)
shougmom
We read 3 or 4 of the others, but I'd agree that the first one is the best. Thanks for that link - very handy! :) Linda
Lynn in WI
Agreeing here, too, that the subsequent stories aren't as appealing as the first, which has been read and re-read by youngest too many times to count. The others haven't held his interest.
Malenki
Also agreeing that the others in the series weren't as good as the first one but they were fine. We did read all the remaining six as read-alouds last year. We liked "Chester Cricket's New Home" best of the rest of them.
