Gamom3
A friend is wanting to teach a Science Experiment class to 3-5th graders using easy to find home products. She is also wanting to keep the price for the class as cheap as possible. The class will be an hour long and will be weekly. Can anyone suggest a site or books that would be good to use? ohmel
Janice VanCleave's boos are excellent. For that age you can do a lot about the scientific principles behind the experiments and then have the kids do the experiments. I used her chemistry bood for a class of mostly third graders and it was a lot of fun.

mcconnellboys
All of Mebane and Rybolt's books are great and most use common, household items....
Corraleno
Inquiry in Action is an awesome 480-page book of chemistry experiments for kids published by the American Chemical Society. Great experiments, serious science, includes activity sheets, lab reports, assessments, etc., and it uses cheap household materials. The whole curriculum is downloadable for FREE, or you can buy a spiral-bound copy from ACS for $25. Jackie
