Meriwether
that our dentist is doing a "Holloween Candy Buy Back". His office will pay $1.00 per pound of candy. Then they will send the candy to troops stationed overseas. I've never heard of something like this before, but it sounds like a good idea. Since we still have candy left from last year, I think we'll take some in.
fhjmom
Some dentists in this area have done a "buy back" for years. I don't know what they do with all the candy, though. I like the idea of sending it to the troops!
happyhomemaker25
Hmmm with five Halloween buckets full for three nights (fall fest, trunk or treat, and trick or treat) I could probably fund our family vacation. LOL
Xuzi
Our dentist did this last year. He got over 700lbs of candy! :001_huh:
Forget-Me-Not
Love it. What an amazing idea!
hsmom3tn
We have a dentist here that does that as well. I think it's a great idea. Of course, I will have to pre-approve the giving away or selling of any chocolate... :D
ShutterBug
I don't get it...why are dentists buying candy from kids so that they can rot the teeth of the troops?
elizabeth
Because they are adults who can make informed choices it seems like a swell idea. Some moron dentist here bought it back from his patients and took it to the local food bank/transitional living center for homeless families. Yes those kids who likely have not seen a dentist in years were given bags of candy from wealthy children who could afford dental care. Sometimes people mean well but cannot think things through.
