apCrazy4Jesus
I need a good thorough thesaurus for our family. I have some, but they always seem to be missing words. What would you recommend? TIA, Adrienne

jec3113
http://www.amazon.com/Franklin-Dictionary-Thesaurus-Correction-MWD-1500/dp/B001WLVHKI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1288315995&sr=8-4 I got this electronic dictionary/thesaurus for my kids and they love it. I ended up buying two, one for each kid. It has 40,000 words and has game functions. The kids can put in their spelling words to study. It is really handy and they think it is fun! Kareni
My favorite thesaurus is Rodale's The Synonym Finder. Our daughter took our copy off to college with her. Regards, Kareni

Regards, Kareni :iagree: Two copies of the Synonym Finder here. I expect my dd to take one with her to college.

MtnTeaching
:iagree: "The Synomym Finder" is the best I've found, too.
plimsoll
Synonym Finder is also my son's favorite. I am very comfortable with Roget, since that is what I used all my life. We also like Merriam-Webster's Dictionary of Synonyms, not so much for finding synonyms, but because it does a very good job of explaining subtle differences in usage between words that at first glance seem interchangeable. Once we find a synonym in Synonym Finder, if we're not sure we're using it correctly, we look in Merriam Webster.
