AFwife Claire
I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy, and tomorrow I have to take a 1 hour glucose tolerance test for this pregnancy, even though I'm only about 14 weeks, to make sure I don't yet have it with this pregnancy. I'm not sure which is more accurate (or maybe it doesn't even matter?), fasting tonight and tomorrow or just taking it having eaten a normal breakfast (which for me is 1/2 cup bran flakes with milk and a hard-boiled egg). I really don't want to fail and have to take the 3-hour one so early in the pregnancy!
LisaKinVA
I was always told to fast.
Carrie12345
Fast. I do the breakfast test rather than force that drink down, so I have to believe that eating a breakfast AND drinking the drink would mess up the results.
danivdp
I'd eat the egg only. No sugar in that, I don't think :P
Crimson Wife
I would fast. With #2, my OB did the non-fasting one and even though I had a low-carb breakfast I still wound up failing and having to take the 3 hour test.
