Colored Transparencies - Where/What to Buy?

I'd like to try colored transparencies for my dd7 for when she reads. Where is the best place to buy a selection to try? I've seen some people suggest just hitting an office supply store, but I've also seen caution against that because of the glossy/glare of that type.

 

Anyone have a source that is either better quality (stands up to some abuse) or more inexpensive than what I've been seeing?

You can order some directly thru Irlen. My teacher supply store also carries a variety of color transparancies. Some are large for full page, others are small bookmark types that just do a line at a time.

I bought report sheet covers at OfficeMax. Pale blue and green seem to be what my son chooses when he is fatigued. Although, others familiar with Irlen screen films feel that these are different, so I don't know.

We got ours from Irlen http://www.irlen.com . However, my daughter no longer needs them since doing Interactive Metronome, Makoto, and brain integration exercises.

Irlen has some in the back of her book, that would get you started on which color to use.

 

The Irlen transparencies are expensive, but the only ones I have seen with a matte, non glare finish. I personally tried using regular overhead transparencies in the same colors as my Irlen and the glare undid all the good of using the transparencies.

My sister found out accidentally as an adult that she could read with sunglasses on at the beach.
