Joker
My older dd has read through almost all the books I had picked out for her history reading. It just felt wrong to tell her to wait when she wanted to read. I need ideas for more books please. She has read: St. Augustine Came to Kent Son of Charlemagne Adam of the Road Anna of Byzantium The Shakespeare Stealer The Samurai's Tale Who Was... William Shakespeare, Marco Polo, Ferdinand Magellan, Da Vinci I thought I would let her read Twain's The Prince and the Pauper since she likes him (it was supposed to be a read aloud). I'll probably let her try Twain's Joan of Arc biography but I don't know if she can get through that one on her own. What were your dc's favorites for that time period? Thanks! LibraryLover
Adam of the Road & The Door in the Wall come quickly to mind. ETA: We also totally enjoyed A Single Shard. PS We did all of these as read alouds. There is a lot to chat about. :) Edited September 17, 2010 by LibraryLover
