Chris in VA
Geez, that's the third time this am I've seen a thread that's at least 2 years old being used to advertise a product. Annnnooooyyying.
fastforward
Oops, I'm guilty of replying to a really old thread. I'm not the spammer, though! Sorry. :leaving:
Chris in VA
No, no, I don't mean replying, I mean registering and then replying with an ad for something to sell. Not you! :-)
Melissa B
No, it is a computer program that scours the web and provides a company with daily lists of links to webboard threads and blogs with relevant keywords. Then someone is paid to simply reply to every link provided that day.
fastforward
Thanks, I feel a bit better, but I still feel kind of silly that my rare post was a response to a 2 year old thread, and I didn't realize it until I read your post.
DarcyB
Probably. It happens all the time on a digital scrapbooking board that I'm on, too.
hillfarm
Actually, "they" do pay people to go on blogs and advertise products. I saw an ad hiring blog responders once. But I'm not sure if that is what is happening here. It is easy to search on a term, get caught up in the discussion, and not notice that the thread was from a long time ago.
