m0mmaBuck
My DD4 is starting a Celtic Kids class in September. She is very excited. What should we expect from a class/course?
Jean in Newcastle
Try PMing CleoQc - I think her kids did Highland dancing at one time.
Ellie
9 years of Highland Dance here. :-) It's competitive, you know--there isn't a recital or anything at the end of the year. In fact, there usually isn't an end of the year, lol. It is different in different parts of the country, though. You wouldn't think that it would be so, but it is. At some point, if your dd has some skill, you'll want her to get to as many competitions as possible so she can move up to the premier class, and then to compete for championships. We loved it. :)
m0mmaBuck
Ellie, I know that the local school does take a break from classes over the summer but only because there are competitions almost every weekend. We have a friend whose daughter is enrolled and just hit the competition age this year so we've had a peek into what that entails for the family. DS has expressed an interest in throwing things (competing in field events) when he is old enough so this could very easily become a family affair.
