iona
it is definately becoming more common to hs. i was wondering what percentage of kids are homeschooled, in the US lets say at any time. less than 3%? what would your guess be, or is there actual data? just wondering... Daisy
There's this article also. It is rather difficult to know exactly, I would think. So many states don't even require notification. http://www.usatoday.com/news/education/2009-01-04-homeschooling_N.htm
iona
thank you both for the links. i agree it would be pretty hard to know exactly....but seeing the jump from 2002 to 2007...it probably jumped at least as much from 2007 until now....and the reported numbers being less than actual numbers...hmm i'll change my guess to 4% give or take a percent.:001_smile:
Crimson Wife
I've seen estimates of anywhere between 2-5%. I would say in the elementary grades, it's probably closer to the 5% figure if one includes all the students enrolled in independent study programs (public or private) and virtual charters.
