SquirrellyMama
Here are some pictures of Ames, Iowa and the flooded Iowa State University basketball arena. You can see the basketball court floating in some of the pics. The water was around 8 - 10 feet high. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery?Avis=D2&Dato=20100811&Kategori=NEWS&Lopenr=811004&Ref=PH&Params=Itemnr=
southcarolinamom
Are you ok? What's happened at your house?
Perry
Is Stephens flooded? We have dance competitions there every year. It's a beautiful auditorium. Hope it's okay.

SquirrellyMama
Are you ok? What's happened at your house? We are fine. We live 10 miles south of Ames. I've had lots of neighbors and friends in town with flooded basements and sewage but that's it here. Ames was badly flooded and the water is contaminated. Near Des Moines several teens were washed off the road in their cars and one died but so far there haven't been many people injured. It is pretty much isolated to parts of cities. Is Stephens flooded? Stephens as far as I know has not been flooded since it is up on a small hill.
Krista in LA
Thanks for posting this - I'm trying to recover from sleep deprivation and exhaustion so I haven't been paying attention to the news. Dh and I both went to Iowa State and have great memories of Ames. I hope the water recedes quickly.
Donovans4
I, too, am an Iowa State grad, and these photos are shocking. My grandmother also lived in Ames and I have very fond memories of Ames. I knew there had been flooding, but didn't realize the extent. Prayers to all who are affected.
