MyBlueLobsters
Wow....we just got cable again after several years and Nick and Disney have some...um...interesting shows! Even some of the songs they play between 'acceptable' shows are so provocative! Thankful for Boomerang, Food network and HGTV! Also thankful for parental locks! bairnmama
:iagree: We don't have cable anymore, but when we did Disney was NOT allowed after about noon. Before then they had all the preschool shows and the inbetween songs were about the alphabet or splashing in the rain. Once you get past Handy Manny and My Friends Tigger & Pooh I think their shows really go downhill.
LauraGB
Yeah. We don't have cable anymore. And amazingly, after the 2 week withdrawal period, no one misses it at all. I really don't need another "parents are stupid buffoons and the kids run the joint" influence.
Mom2J112903
We too just got DISH back after 2yrs-J is *still* wanting to watch his PBS shows and DVDs. Playhouse Disney is GREAT and we have NickJr he is allowed to watch anytime. Our favorite NickJr shows-PinkyDinkyDoo, The Backyardigan's, Oswald, Little Bear, Franklin, almost everything but Yo-Gabba-Gabba :tongue_smilie:
Margo out of lurking
:iagree: My kids watch Nick and Disney occasionally, but they are a bit older. We watch a very few number of regular prime time shows, and my 15yodd mutes almost every commercial. It's just part of the dumbing down of America. Farrar
Nick and Disney have a few acceptable things - mostly for younger kids, though and my 5 yos have even grown out of most of them. We do watch Phineas and Ferb on Disney and we love, love, love it - the whole family will watch because we all think it's funny. But the fact that all the ads are for Suite Life and so forth... ugh. Thank goodness we have Tivo and can zip them.
Nestof3
I really don't need another "parents are stupid buffoons and the kids run the joint" influence. Then don't come to our house.
Lightly Salted
yeah ... Disney is blocked at our house when I realized that's where the newfound 'attitude' was coming from! :glare:
