OneRoomHomeSchool
Will using Rod and Staff Math 8 adequately prepare my dd for Lials Introductory Algebra? Thanks! :001_smile:
terrylee
Yes, I believe so! We finished R & S early and just started Lial's Introductory Algebra and she is really enjoying it. We did skip over the geometry and Personal Finance sections in R & S, to be covered after Algebra. I really like Lials! terrylee
LisaNY
Yes, definitely. The nice thing about Lial's Intro. is that they do some review of basics in the first chapter, so you can stop and review anything your dc might need to revisit before moving on to Algebra. tmkclscroggins
We used R&S grade 8 and I thought it did a great job preparing my ds for Algebra I. I think it's the best math we used so far. hth, Melissa
Beth in Central TX
Melissa--What math program did you move into after R&S math 8? Thanks!

Cinder
When ds finished Singapore 6 he wasn't quite ready for algebra so we used R&S 8. I think it gave him solid review. Now he's using Lial Intro Algebra and doing fine. Cinder
Crissy
I am not familiar with Lial's, but my son made a smooth transition from R&S7 into algebra. Good luck! :001_smile:

tmkclscroggins
Beth, We moved directly into Foerster's Algebra I. So far we haven't had any problems ( except for the word problem sections at the end of each chapter!) melissa
