iammommy
I'm thinking of going from Teaching Textbooks 6 to Horizons. Would I need to drop a grade to 5? Thanks! Nan
mereminerals
My dd has been using Horizons since 1st grade. We are going to be using TT to supplement Horizons this year, just to change things up a little for her and we will be going from Horizons 4 Book 2 to TT 6 and most things in there will be just a review for her. She tested to TT 7. I have several friends who have switched from Horizons after completing 4 and went to either TT 6 or TT 7. Horizons has an online placement test you can have your child take to see which book they should go into. That being said, Horizons does tend to be a minimum of a grade and a half above level. hsmom
Now I have heard that TT is below grade and Horizons is above. So, if you go by that what the pp stated that would be right. Horizons 4 would be about grade 5 and TT 6 would be about grade 5.

twoxcell
Just wanted to add my ds did Horizons 1 last year, and could easily do the TT level 3 samples they had on their website.
Aludlam
I'm interested in the grade levels for Horizons too. Bumping to keep this thread going! :001_smile:
hsmom
For example from using and what I have heard. Horizon K book one is K, book 2 is grade 1. Horizons grade 1 book 1 grade 1 book 2 grade 2 and so on. My son was and is still able to do most of grade 1 work and he only finished book 1 and a few lessons in book 2 of the K program.
