How do I search for 2 words?

How do I search for more than one word efficiently? I want to search for "writing skills" but when I type both words in I get all posts for the words "writing" AND "skills" which is not helpful.

Is there a way to search for both words together?

I assume there is but I'm just not seeing the directions for it.

Thanks!

Try "writing skills" or writing + skills.

I did a quick search both ways and the same threads came up.

Cindy

I still get all threads with just the word "writing" in them.

I was trying to search for the program "Writing Skills" but guess that's not going to happen here.

I think there's a way to google search it related to this board but I don't remember how to do that.

You can use Boolean searches with google's site search function.

Here is a description of how to use it that I posted in another thread:

Quote:

Not with the search function on the forum, no. You can do this via google. Go to their "advanced search," put Easy Grammar in the box that says "this exact wording or phrase" and put http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/ in the box that reads "search within a site or domain."

There is probably a better way, but I don't know what it is and this one works :D

I use Google (either the downloadable search bar or www.google.com) and enter in site:[name of site goes here] and then the phrase I want in quotes.

So, for your search, type in:

site:
"writing skills"

and you'll get all the threads that have the phrase "writing skills" in it.

HTH!

ETA: Yeah, what Mrs. Mungo said!
