I need some audio book ideas that would work for our entire family. We loved Redwall and the Hobbit. Most of the ones I keep thinking of are a little young for my boys, but dd is only 10. southwind Posted June 15, 2010 Share Posted June 15, 2010 Just listened to this over the weekend. My 17yo dd, 16yo ds, 14yo ds, 11yo dd, and 4yo ds (lol) loved this. We got it from Audible.com. It's about 7 hours long. We've also loved The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald on tape. The kids were younger when we listened to that one, but they would like it even now. We also spent much of our Yellowstone trip (2000 mi. in the van!) listening to the Chronicles of Narnia. We found all 7 books in one set at the library! We all loved The Odyssey. www.amazon.com/Odyssey-Telling-Bodkin-Musical-Collection/dp/1882412176 Ender's Game is a great audio book, but it might to be a bit much for some 10 yr olds. My dh really enjoyed it, and it is a fav of all of my kids. My youngest was just turning 11 when she first heard it on a long drive. She then read it on her own. It makes for great discussion.
