Lovedtodeath
What about the experiments? Are they too simple/young?
SilverMoon
Yes and no. It is meaty enough for a 6th grader who hasn't already covered that topic, but will probably only last half the school year. In our experience, anyway.
Lovedtodeath
Thanks. I was looking at it included in a science package. :) anyone else?
twoxcell
We used it this year with my 1st grader. I think that it would be fine for a 6th grader. I find it interesting and informative myself to read. It really covers a lot of material. I own all three zoology books and it is the longest of the three.
HollyDay
We are doing it this summer. My dd will be in 6th next year. She is really enjoying it!
orangearrow
My 6th grader is doing it now. Definitely "meaty" but we're covering it over the spring/summer - doing one unit/lesson per week. We've stretched Botany over an entire year - but that's been the only one (in a group setting). The other Apologia Elem. books we've used have been a semester at most. jen_white
I think it's enough. but i'd make them do the "older students" section. :)
Lovedtodeath
Well, that changes things... I didn't realize that there was an older students section.
