That schedule that SWB uses?

Recommended Posts

I've seen this several times with SWB-It's here on the handouts page, it's in TWTM, and I remember seeing an actual picture on her blog somewhere.

I really enjoyed having classes set up like this in College. My high school had classes like this for us as well. Longer but we got more down.

I'm going to be doing more planning for this upcoming year. We do better when we have enough time for certain subjects. We are at the YMCA four days a week. That is really our only outside activity.

Does anyone do this? Do you let your children pick or do you pick? Do you have an example for your children?

Thanks for linking to this....very useful fo rme and I hadn't noticed it before.

I started today, straight after seeing it! For my ds14, I will check in at the beginning and end of the school day. He needs that. For dd15, I will check in at the beginning and end of the week. She likes that idea.

Sometimes simple concepts make a difference! This frees up my time immensely, as I have been mooching around all day with barely anything to do!

I say...try it and see if it works for you.

I am not exactly sure what your question is.

What I do here is every child has a set amount of subjects to get through in the morning. They can choose the order that they do them in. Once they have finished one subject, they move straight into the next. when they have finished, their time is their own until 1 pm , when we start afternoon subjects.

I am assisting ds6 with every subject, right at his elbow. dd10 is more assign and check for most things, ds12 needs me hovering, and sometimes assisting ( dyslexia) ds14 assign and check for nearly everything. ds16 hovering for everything except math physics and chemistry, though he needs me to be within call.

I'm going to get her cd/mp3 of the talk to listen to. Just wanted to brainstorm and see other's experiences.

Is this talk available on the Peace Hill Press site? I was looking at the schedule and would love to hear more about it.

ETA- Ok, I just found it -thanks!
